Our By-Laws and Rules of Conduct

Description: 1 Timothy 1:12 " I thank Christ Jesus or Lord, who has given me strength, that he has considered me faithful appointing me to his service."

Brothers of the Cross (B.O.T.C.) Is a Christian Motorcycle Ministry/Service Organization. B.O.T.C. is not a club nor will be treated as such. Denominational boundaries or doctrines will not limit us. The one doctrine we hold to is Jesus is the Son of the living God and the only way to the Father is Through Him.Mission: Matthew 28:18-20 Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."To minister to all people regardless of race, belief, gender or social status. To be a light in the darkness, being a witness for Jesus always. Bringing the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Risen Lord and Savior to those where they are. To witness always, speak when necessary. B.O.T.C.'s goal is to build relationships with others so that through our walk with Jesus will be seen to be consistent and that we not cause any one to stumble.

Code of Conduct:

Colossians 3:1 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. 5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7 in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them. 8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, 11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free, but Christ is all and in all. 12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; 13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. 14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection. 15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. 16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

This code of conduct is for all Christians; it is especially true for B.O.T.C. members.

We will live our lives like this in and out of colors.

It is important that we realize that the lost will do what they know how to do and that is sin.

John 16:3 "They will do such things because they have not know the Father or me."

Jesus was speaking about those who persecute us for being Christians. But it also shows that they do not know any better and at one point we have all been there. Some one met you where you were at when they shared the gospel with you.

So we will meet the lost where they are, for Jesus said, "It is not the well who need a physician but the sick. We will on the streets, in the hospitals, in the bars, and at their rallies to show them the love of Christ. B.O.T.C. will not push the Gospel of Christ down anyone's throat. We will however build up relationships, and through our walk, earn the right to witness, relationships are very important, to those around us. At all times we will be watched to see if our talk lines up with our walk. If you can not walk it do not talk it! B.O.T.C. will not point a finger, criticize, or pass judgment on the one who is living in sin. For we were once there. There is a way of doing all things. We will us the Bible as our instruction manual, Christ sent the Disciples out two by two. Christ was following the wisdom of the author of old, Ecclesiastes 4:9-12. We are stronger together and our integrity is always on the line. If we are together when we witness and a Question comes up then two have a better chance of answering. Then the Brothers can keep an eye on each other, keeping each other in line and protecting each other physically and spiritually. Our labors should not be in vain so we take the proper measures to protect our witness. There will be times that we will be alone and we will have to be diligent in walking the line. Therefore it is important that we protect our witness and labors in everything that we do and everywhere we go. So here are some rules of conduct that should be followed, in life there are extreme circumstances that may supersede one or more of these rules. We do not want to hinder ourselves and become ineffective. But in all things be diligent in protecting your integrity.1. B.O.T.C. members shall not enter into a bar or tavern for the purpose of witnessing unless accompanied by another member, patch holder, Foot Soldier or Prayer Warrior. We are to be a light in the darkness. Do not let your light dim.2. No member shall witness to anyone of the opposite sex. B.O.T.C. members will witness to men and S.O.T.C. members will witness to women and children. If a B.O.T.C. member is accompanied by an S.O.T.C. member then they may witness to someone of the opposite sex.3. Foul language will not be used at any time. We are told by Paul, the Apostle, that no filthy speech should be on our lips. If there are any questions as to how to conduct ourselves then refer to The Code of Conduct, then to the word of God, as all our answers are found in God's Word.

Colors:

Once an individual verbally expresses that they would like to become a member he/she must first meet with the Chaplain or President. There will be a time of prayer and discussion. Prayer for where does God really want this person to be. Then into discussion, what does B.O.T.C. expect of the new member and what does the new member expect of B.O.T.C.After there has been prayer and discussion and preparation, then there will be a mandatory bible study that the new prospective member will have to complete. A patch holder will mentor the new prospective member. The amount of time it takes to complete the bible study is up to the prospective member, with at least once a month study. The prospective member and his member will set the study time. When the study is complete the Mentor and disciple will pray and talk. Afterwards the mentor will give a progress report to the Chaplain and President. There will be a special meeting to give the colors to the New Member. The New Member will be asked three questions:
1. Do you believe Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God?2. Have you accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior?3. Will you conduct yourself in a manner that will reflect the Love, Life, and Light of Christ?4. There will be a fourth question and this will be asked to the B.O.T.C. members.5. Will you as brother's support and lift up your brother / sister and help him / her to walk in integrity and to be a light of Christ?

What does the Brothers of the Cross patch stands for?

Red: The blood of Christ that was shed for Our sins.
Purple: The royal Priesthood of Christ.
Black: Our sins that Christ took upon Himself on the cross.
Gold: The refinement Process that we go through to become more like Christ.

The back patch will share space with any other organization's patch. If you belong to any other organization their patch may be worn on the front of the vest or jacket, but not on the back. You may have witness patches on the back as long as there is enough room; the design, coloration or the size does not detract from the B.O.T.C. back patch.
The B.O.T.C. back patch is the property of Brothers of the Cross. B.O.T.C. will issue the disciple their colors. If any reason the disciple decides to remove his colors or if their colors are pulled the back patch will be returned to the B.O.T.C. Chapter.Probation and Patch Pulling
If there are any moral issues that come to the attention of anyone concerning a brother / sister must be brought to the chaplain, the chaplain only. As Christians we do not look forward to the fall of a brother / sister nor do we want to air others laundry in public. We work though the chaplain only then the chaplain takes it from there it will be with the chaplain to determine what if anything needs to be done. We will always try and bring a brother / sister back with love.1. The Chaplain will meet with the brother / sister in question and then mentor with him/ her or assign an Ambassador to mentor with him / her.
2. It will be the discretion of the Chaplain, President and Vice President to determine if the patch holder will be put on probation.3. If he / she is put on probation he / she will not be allowed to wear B.O.T.C. colors until their life is back in alignment with the word of God.4. Only the Chaplain, President and Vice President will determine the pulling of a patch. The patch will be pulled only if the brother / sister continues to disgrace the sacrifice Jesus made. In other words if they do not turn from that for which they were put on probation. We are all human and all struggle with sin one way or another. We as brothers and sisters in Christ will lift each other up in love and prayer. It has been said that the Christian army is the only army that kills it's wounded. Therefore B.O.T.C. and S.O.T.C. will in every way with love, try and lead that brother or sister back to The Lord. For that brother or sister you help may be the very one that will support you when you stumble.
In short we are to love one another as Christ loves us, and we will not point a finger at a brother or sister when they fall. By the way we treat each other is how the world will know we are Christians and know that we are here to love not hurt or hate.In all we do, do it to the Glory of God the Father and Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit.

We do not have a great deal of rules. We really want our code of conduct to come directly from The Bible as it is the word of God. Any time there is a question on a point of conduct let us use our common sense and the word of God. If you are in alignment with God's will and are searching the scriptures on a regular basis then if we start to stray the Holy Spirit will let us know. Also if we have Brothers around us then between them and us and God's Word we will not stray.
A rule of thumb, if you have to hide what you are doing then you should not be doing it. We should never go in to a strip club; our witness will not be heard. If we are on a run or rally and there is a bar that we go into and the activity become such that it will distract us and or cause our witness to fall on deaf ears then it is time to leave. If we trust God he will always lead us to the right place. Let us lean on God and work together to keep our integrity. Peace be with you. BUZZSAW-KIHS
